20 years old midfielder Ingi Højsted has signed a contract with Birmingham City in the Premier Leage.

October 30, 2005: Player of the Year Awards 2005:
On Saturday night it was revealed that goalkeeper Jákup Mikkelsen of B36 Tórshavn had been voted as the Player of the Year in 2005. It's the first time a goalkeeper has won this award.

October 29, 2005: Norwegian soccer:
Todi Jónsson and his Norwegian club Start missed out on the title, as they lost to Frederikstad and Vaalerenga drew with Odd Grenland.

October 29, 2005: Playoffs for the Formula 1st Division, second leg:
Gí Gøta retain their place in the 1st Division.

October 28, 2005: Jógvan Martin Olsen new Faroe Faroe Islands coach:
Former assistant coach, Jógvan Martin Olsen, has been appointed new head coach for the Faroe Islands. John Petersen is now assistant coach.

October 26, 2005: Playoffs for the Formula 1st Division, first leg:
GÍ Gøta all but secure their place in the Formula 1st Division next season after beating 2nd division B71 Sandoy 3-0 in the first leg of the playoffs.

October 22, 2005: Round 27 of the Formula 1st Division:
HB Tórshavn throw away a 1-0 lead against B36 Tórshavn and hand them the championship.

October 16, 2005: Round 26 of the Formula 1st Division:
HB Tórshavn beat KÍ klaksvík to set up a last-day-final with B36 Tórshavn. - If they draw, Skála snatch the title! (if Skála beat GÍ).

October 08, 2005: Israel vs. Faroe Islands, World Cup Qualifier:
Goal after 45 seconds helps Israel beat the Faroe Islands 2-1.

October 02, 2005: Round 25 of the Formula 1st Division:
HB draw vs. ÍF Fuglafjørður, but the result is not catastrophic as B36 Tórshavn also draw and Skála lose.

September 25, 2005: Round 24 of the Formula 1st Division:
A late Hans á Lag goal against VB Vágur keeps HB Tórshavn in the title race. B36 also take victory with a late penalty against EB/Streymur.

September 18, 2005: Round 23 of the Formula 1st Division:
HB Tórshavn draw at Skála and are still in the title race, but they are now depending on Skála dropping points. B36 Tórshavn could only draw against ÍF Fuglafjørður.

September 11, 2005: Round 22 of the Formula 1st Division:
HB Tórshavn got off to a winning start with new coach Julian Hansen, as they beat a very tame GÍ-Gøta team by 4 goals to 1. Skála dropped 2 vital points against KÍ Klaksvík.

September 07, 2005: Faroe Islands vs. Israel, World Cup Qualifier:
A tame Israeli side had difficulties breaking down the Faroese defense and didn’t look like a team that has a chance to qualify for the 2006 world Cup, but with 2 goals in the second half, Israel is still in it, although they need other teams to lose points.

September 03, 2005: France vs. Faroe Islands, World Cup Qualifier:
France, with a sparkling Zinedine Zidane, beat Faroe Islands 3-0.

August 29, 2005: HB Tórshavn sack coach Heine Fernandez
HB has parted company with coach Heine Fernandez after a string of bad results lately. New coach is Julian Hansen, former HB- and international player.

August 27, 2005: Round 21 of the Formula 1st Division:
HB Tórshavn’s title chances were dealt a crushing blow, when they were sent home with a 4-0 loss in the bag, after visiting EB/Streymur today; a team HB have won both 3-0 and 4-0 earlier this year.

August 25, 2005: UEFA Cup: B36 Tórshavn vs FC Midtjylland:
B36 Tórshavn shock FC Midtjylland by scoring after only 4 minutes, but have to settle for a draw.

August 21, 2005: Round 20 of the Formula 1st Division:
HB Tórshavn stroll to a 4-1 victory over TB Tvøroyri and keep in contention with Skála, 1 point adrift, but overtake B36 Tórshavn, who lose to NSÍ Runavík.

August 17, 2005: Faroe Islands vs. Cyprus, World Cup Qualifier:
Efficiency is the main difference, as the Faroe Islands are beaten 3-0 by Cyprus.

August 13, 2005: Round 19 of the Formula 1st Division:
HB go down to NSÍ Runavík.

August 11, 2005: UEFA Cup: FC Midtjylland vs B36 Tórshavn:
B36 lost 2-1 against Danish Superliga team FC Midtjylland in the first leg of the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup, but with an important away goal, B36 is not out of it yet.

August 7, 2005: Round 18 of the Formula 1st Division:
Red card for playing coach Heine Fernandez proves costly for HB Tórshavn in the derby against B36 Tórshavn. Skála win comfortably over GÍ Gøta and join HB and B36 at the top, all with 36 points.

July 29, 2005: The Cup Final:
GÍ Gøta win 4-1 over ÍF Fuglafjørður in the Cup final.

July 28, 2005: UEFA Cup: B36 Tórshavn vs ÍBV Vestmannaeyar & Liepajas Metalurgs vs NSÍ Runavík:
B36 Tórshavn beat IBV Vestmannaeyar and qualify for the next round of the UEFA Cup. NSÍ Runavík lose 3-0 away to Metalurgs.

July 24, 2005: The Cup Competition - Semi-Finals, second leg:
10 men ÍF Fuglafjørður win over B68 Toftir and meet GÍ Gøta in the cup final.

July 19, 2005: FBK Kaunas vs. HB Tórshavn, UEFA Champions League:
No miracle in Lithuania, no Liverpool for HB Tórshavn: FBK Kaunas – HB Tórshavn 4 – 0!

July 16, 2005: Round 17 of the Formula 1st Division:
HB Tórshavn come from behind to beat KÍ Klaksvík with two headers from Hans á Lag.

July 14, 2005: UEFA Cup: ÍBV Vestmannaeyar vs B36 Tórshavn & NSÍ Runavík vs Liepajas Metalurgs:
B36 with a great chance of qualifying for the next round of the UEFA Cup as they get an excellent 1-1 draw away to IBV Vestmannaeyar. NSÍ Runavík lose 3-0 at home against Metalurgs.

July 13, 2005: HB Tórshavn vs. FBK Kaunas, UEFA Champions League:
HB Tórshavn’s Liverpool-dream washed away after only 72 seconds in the rain at Tórsvøllur Stadiun tonight, when FBK Kaunas beat HB’s off side trap and scored for 1-0.

July 10, 2005: Round 16 of the Formula 1st Division:
HB Tórshavn thrash íF Fuglafjørður 9-0! - But the top 3 doesn't change, as Skála and B36 Tórshavn also win.

July 6, 2005: The Cup Competition - Semi-Finals, first leg:
GÍ Gøta all but secured their place in the Cup final by beating B71 Sandoy 5-1. B68 Toftir and ÍF Fuglafjørður still have all to play for, as ÍF won 2-1 at home.

July 03, 2005: Round 15 of the Formula 1st Division:
HB Tórshavn, B36 Tórshavn and Skála tied at the top with 29 points, as HB have to settle for a draw against VB Vágur and B36 slip up against EB/Streymur. Skála made no mistake against NSÍ Runavík this time.

June 27, 2005: Round 14 of the Formula 1st Division:
B36 Tórshavn leapfrog HB and Skála to take back 1st spot.

June 26, 2005: Tampere United vs. Skála, UEFA Inter Toto Cup:
Skála lose by odd goal away to Tampere United.

June 24, 2005: HB Tórshavn meet FBK Kaunas from Lithuania in the Champions League
HB Tórshavn’s dream of meeting Liverpool FC is still alive, but to make that dream come true, HB will have to beat FBK Kaunas from Lithuania.

June 23, 2005: HB Tórshavn vs. Liverpool FC in the Champions League?
HB have an 8,3% chance of being drawn against Liverpool, as Liverpool is set to play one of 12 unseeded teams in the first qualifying round for the Champions League.

HB Tórshavn lose to Skála for the second time this season.

June 19, 2005: Round 13 of the Formula 1st Division:
Yet another Rasmus Nolsøe free kick-special as HB Tórshavn beat GÍ Gøta to go 5 points clear in the table.

June 18, 2005: Skála vs. Tampere United, UEFA Inter Toto Cup:
Skála hold Finnish side Tampere United to halftime, but can’t hold on in the second half.

June 15, 2005: Round 13 of the Formula 1st Division:
Skála snatch second place from B36 Tórshavn by beating KÍ Klaksvík.

June 12, 2005: Round 12 of the Formula 1st Division:
HB Tórshavn win over EB/Streymur and open up a 3 point gap, as B36 Tórshavn’s match against VB Vágur is postponed because of strong wind.

June 8, 2005: Faroe Islands vs. Ireland, World Cup Qualifier:
A superb display from the Faroes earned them a 0-0 score line at half time, but a few minutes of lost concentration in the start of the second half wrecked a very possible point against Ireland.

June 4, 2005: Faroe Islands vs. Switzerland, World Cup Qualifier:
The Faroe Islands were looking to stage an upset against Switzerland when Rógvi Jacobsen equalized for 1-1 after 70 minutes, but the Faroes had barely stopped “the hugging”, when Alexander Frei restored the lead for Switzerland just 3 minutes later.

May 29, 2005: Round 11 of the Formula 1st Division:
HB Tórshavn beat TB Tvøroyri to get their first away victory of the season and are still number 1 with a better goal difference than B36 Tórshavn, who won over NSÍ Runavík. VB Vágur is now rank bottom.

May 27, 2005: No ticket, no problem for Irish
1000-1500 Irish supporters now expected to travel to the Faroes - many without a ticket for the match.

May 23, 2005: Round 10 of the Formula 1st Division:
HB Tórshavn beat NSÍ Runavík to go top once again.

May 22, 2005: Round 10 of the Formula 1st Division:
B36 retain 1st spot after a 2-2 draw against Skála. VB Vágur is in free fall and the red lights are now blinking. EB/Streymur snatch victory in injury time after being 2 goals down to ÍF Fuglafjørður.

May 16, 2005: Round 9 of the Formula 1st Division:
HB Tórshavn and B36 Tórshavn play out a goalless draw in the local derby.

May 11, 2005: Round 8 of the Formula 1st Division:
HB Tórshavn hammer ÍF Fuglafjørður 6-0 and narrow the gap to leaders B36 who drew against Skála in the top match.

May 8, 2005: Round 7 of the Formula 1st Division:
B36 Tórshavn open up a two-point gap. HB Tórshavn lose to Skála again, despite a Rasmus Nolsøe hattrick.

May 6, 2005: KÍ Klaksvík appoint new coach
KÍ Klaksvík appoint Oddbjørn Joensen as new coach.

May 5, 2005: The Cup Competition - Quarter Finals:
HB is ousted from the Cup by ÍF Fuglafjørður. – Two second division teams make it to the semi finals.

May 2, 2005: KÍ Klaksvík Sack Ove Flindt Bjerg
After a poor run of results, KÍ Klaksvík has sacked Danish coach Ove Flindt Bjerg.

May 1, 2005: Round 6 of the Formula 1st Division:
Status quo in the Formula 1st Division as all the top teams win their matches. HB Tórshavn leave it to the second half to score 4 against EB/Streymur.

April 25, 2005:The Cup Competition:
KÍ Klaksvík and B36 Tórshavn lose their appeal and are definitely out of the Cup.

April 24, 2005: Atlantic Cup 2005:
HB Tórshavn are downed 4-1 by Icelandic champions FH Hafnafjørður.

April 24, 2005: Round 5 of the Formula 1st Division:
B36 Tórshavn take top spot from HB Tórshavn after beating KÍ Klaksvík in the top match this weekend.

April 20, 2005: Round 5 of the Formula 1st Division:
HB Tórshavn go top after beating GÍ Gøta 3-1

April 19, 2005: Round 4 of the Formula 1st Division:
Skála go top of the league by wining the postponed match against KÍ Klaksvík

ÍF Fuglafjørður lose for the first time and are overtaken by B36 Tórshavn on the table. HB win comfortably over TB Tvøroyri. KÍ Klaksvík vs. Skála is abandoned because of strong wind.
