April 17, 2005: Round 4 of the Formula 1st Division:

HB Tórshavn win comfortably over TB Tvøroyri

HB Tórshavn - TB Tvøroyri 3-1 (1-0)
1-0 Hans á Lag '44
2-0 John Heri Dam '49
3-0 Owngoal '66
3-1 Óli Johannesen '87

HB had no real problems winning against TB Tvøroyri in today’s match at Gundadalur Stadium. It took a while though, until HB scored the first goal. 44 minutes had been played when defender Jóhannes Joensen accompanied the attack and crossed the ball to Hans á Lag, who had no problem scoring. Hans á Lag is usually a defender, but today played as a forward. Imagine Sol Campel playing in Arsenal’s attack… But Hans á Lag is very strong with the head, and that was probably the reason for him playing in the attack today, so he could challenge the TB defense, which otherwise is quite strong with the high balls, thanks to national team captain Óli Johannesen and Aca Petrovic from Serbia/Montenegro.

In the second half HB needed just 4 minutes to get the second goal. The ball rebounded of the crossbar twice, before John Heri Dam swept it over the goal line.

HB made it 3-0 midway through the second half, thanks to a TB own goal. John Heri Dam played a long diagonal ball to Jákup á Borg on the right flank, who made the cross, but TB defender Óli Johannesen was unlucky to kick the ball into his own goal.

Shortly before the final whistle, Óli Johannesen evened out his own goal, when he scored in the HB goal this time, but it was only a consolation, as HB won 3-1. But once again, HB could not hold a clean sheet. There is sill a lot of work to be done in that apartment.

However, TB never was any threat in today’s match. They played with a very sad attitude with 11 men behind the ball for all 90 minutes, and throughout the game, they had maybe 1 header, that could have produced a goal in addition to the one they got.

TB surprised a few people, when they got a draw against B36 Tórshavn and NSÍ Runavík, but if they are going to play as they did today for the rest of the competition, they will stand no chance of avoiding relegation. One odd point here and another there will not be enough for TB. They will have to do some attacking. Today they were very sad and are now rooted at the bottom of the table, where they probably will stay, if they don’t change their tactics.
