Sámal Erik Hentze to coach Víkingur
Víkingur have announced that they have penned a deal with coach Sámal Erik Hentze who last season led B36 Tórshavn to the title as well as HB Tórshavn in 2009. Shortly after winning the title last year, Hentze surprisingly announced that he quit, citing a busy schedule running his constructor company.

However, just before the  summer break, Hentze agreed to release Oddbjørn Joensen at relegation threatened AB Argir, and unless FC Suðuroy win both of their remaining matches of the league, AB Argir will book their place in next year’s top flight. But it will be with a new coach.

KÍ Klaksvík sign new goalkeeper
KÍ Klaksvík have announced that they have signed 22-year old goalkeeper Kristian Joensen from 07Vestur in the 2nd tier.

Joensen, originally from NSÍ Runavík, had a brief spell in Danish football, but returned to the Faroe Islands as he found no suitable or interested club abroad. Having played for B68 Toftir in the second half of the 2014 season, he again failed to find a club abroad and as the top division clubs had goalkeepers in place, Joensen didn’t have other options than go to the 2nd tier club 07 Vestur.

He has played for Faroe Islands’ U19 and U21 teams and was also reserve for the senior team a couple of years ago.

Goalkeeper Predgag Markovic quits at ÍF Fuglafjørður
It’s already a couple of weeks ago that ÍF Fuglafjørður’s Serbian goalkeeper Predrag Markovic quit the club; citing pending between the
capital and Fuglafjørður – an hour’s drive – was too time-consuming.

NSÍ Runavík sign B71 Sandoy goalkeeper Símun Rógvi Hansen
NSÍ Runavík have announced that they have signed goalkeeper Símun Rógvi Hansen who this season has played for childhood B71 Sandoy in the 2nd tier, having returned from his studies in Denmark.

Before that he played for AB Argir in 2013 where he at the end of the season was rewarded with a call up to the national team.

He has also had a spell at HB Tórshavn in 2009 where he played some 20 matches for the first team.

What the fate of current NSÍ goalkeeper, Hungarian Andras Gango will be, is currently unknown.

B36 Tórshavn goalkeeper Tórður Thomsen quitting the champions?
It had been announced that B36 Tórshavn goalkeeper Tórður Thomsen had agreed terms with KÍ Klaksvík next season, but suddenly the news broke that KÍ had signed Kristian Joensen. Currently, nobody knows the future of Thomsen as B36 have already stated that they have named this season’s reserve goalkeeper Trygvi Askham as first-choice goalkeeper next season. We’ll see if there will be a change of mind.

Midfielder Høgni Madsen to quit FC Suðuroy
Experienced midfielder Høgni Madsen, with a handful of caps for the Faroe Islands, has announced that he will leave the club at the end of the season.

Madsen will not be on the pitch on Sunday however – where FC Suðuroy have to beat ÍF Fuglafjørður in order to prevent relegation – as he is serving a two-match suspension for a red card he received AFTER the match against AB Argir in round 24 had finished. A costly stupid red card.
