August 03-05, 2012:
Round 18 of the premier league "effodeildin":
August 03
KÍ Klaksvík - EB/Streymur 1-3 (0-2)
0-1 Gert Hansen
0-2 Owngoal
0-3 Niels Pauli Danielsen
1-3 Andy Olsen
EB/Streymur reclaimed the top spot in the table after beating KÍ Klaksvík in the top match.
EB/Streymur had the edge in most of the first half and laid ground for their victory with two goals with a minute between them 10 minutes before the break.
Defender Gert Hansen headed in the first from a corner before a deflected shot from midfielder Pætur Dam Jacobsen beat the deceived Andras Gango in the KÍ goal the minute after.
EB/Streymur were happy to sit back in the second half as KÍ found it difficult to really threaten up-front and 8 minutes before the end of normal time Niels Pauli Danielsen decided the match to make it 3-0 on a counterattack, although Andy Olsen grabbed a late consolation 5 minutes later. And then it mattered little that Hjalgrím Elttør missed a penalty for KÍ deep into added time.

B68 Toftir - HB Tórshavn 1-2 (0-1)
0-1 Símun Samuelsen
1-1 Owngoal
1-2 Christian R. Mouritsen
HB were close to throwing a victory away when defender Vagnur Mohr Mortensen headed behind his own goalkeeper in the 72nd minute, but were rescued by Christian R. Mouritsen’s winner eight minutes from time.
HB had been marginally better in the first half, but far from impressing, and took the lead after 18 minutes when B68 forgot to keep their eye on Símun Samuelsen on the left hand side who was played clear by Hallur Hansson, and when Samuelsen entered the penalty area, he coolly curled the ball over Hans Jørgensen in the B86 goal.
But chances were few and far between although Samuelsen threatened again later when he got to the by-line and close to the goal failed to pick out a team-mate.
B68 never really tested Teitur Gestsson in the HB goal and maybe their best attempt was a free kick from Jann Ingi Petersen which the goalkeeper safely punched away.
Within the first quarter of the second half Hallur Hansson had could have decided the match for HB, but in the first attempt he fired into the sidenetting when he could have passed to the clear Christian Mouritsen and moments later he shot narrowly wide from a good position.
HB faded as the second half progressed while B68 were improving and frequented more often around HB’s penalty area, but without really threatening, however.
But after 71 minutes the teams were level again as HB defender Vagnur Mohr Mortensen at the back post headed a B68 cross straight into the top corner of the goal he was trying to defend.
HB tried to lift their game again, but without too much success, but after 81 minutes Christian R. Mouritsen wriggled his way to get clear in the penalty area and finished clinically with his left foot with a low match-winning shot that beat the B68 goalkeeper.

NSÍ Runavík - ÍF Fuglafjørður 1-2 (0-2)
0-1 Thomas Asmussen
0-2 Jan Ellingsgaard
1-2 Klæmint Olsen
ÍF won their 4th match in succession to climb within 3 points of leaders EB/Streymur.
ÍF took the lead after 20 minutes when Thomas Asmussen’s cross sneaked behind defenders and goalkeeper. A quarter of an hour later, Jan Ellingsgaard slutted home following a some back and forth from a set piece.
NSÍ, who had been very poor during the first half, improved slightly in the second and did enough to get a penalty which Klæmint Olsen converted safely after the hour-mark (Olsen is now equal with Clayton Soares (ÍF) and Páll klettskarð (KÍ) on the top of the top scorer list with 12 goals).
However, ÍF’s victory was never really under threat.
Víkingur - TB Tvøroyri 1-0 (0-0)
1-0 Fritleif í Lambanum
Although Víkingur had a clear majority of possession, they were close to throwing away two costly points as they found it hard to create scoring opportunities against a well organized TB-team.
But the deadlock was finally broken in the 73rd minute when Fritleif í Lambanum, who had been on the field for less than 10 minutes, scored the crucial goal to keep Víkingur equal on points with ÍF, and only 2 points adrift of table toppers EB/Streymur.
FC Suðuroy - B36 Tórshavn 0-2 (0-1)
0-1 Atli Danielsen (pen)
0-2 Lukasz Cieslewicz
B36 failed to take advantage of a 3rd minute penalty when FC Suðuroy goalkeeper Stanislav Kuzma saved from Lukasz Cieslewicz.
However, B36 took the lead on another penalty half an hour later; this time taken by Atli Danielsen.
B36 were reduced to 10 men when Jákup á Borg was given a straight red card shortly before the break, but FC Suðuroy failed to capitalize on the man in advantage which only lasted for 30 minutes, however, as FC Suðuroy had Poul N. Poulsen dismissed for a second yellow card.
A couple of minutes before the end of the game, Cieslewicz repaired the damage for the missed penalty, when he cemented B36’s win after some sleek dribbles into the penalty area.
