July 27 - 29 july, 2012:
Round 17 of the premier league "effodeildin":

July 27

KÍ Klaksvík - Víkingur 3-3 (0-2)
0-1 Sølvi Vatnhamar
0-2 Kaj Leo í Bartalsstovu
0-3 Filip Djordjevic
1-3 John Hammer
2-3 Páll Klettskarð
3-3 Páll Klettakarð

KÍ Klaksvík defend their lead in the table as they come back from 3-0 down to salvage a 3-3 draw while EB/Streymur are held to 0-0 by B68 Toftir.

KÍ looked dead and buried when Filip Djordjevic, who switched from KÍ a few days ago, made it 3-0 for Víkingur, but KÍ dug deep and proved that it’s not by accident that they are the top team as they fought back to salvage a 3-3 draw.

Víkingur had started brightly by making it 1-0 after 5 minutes through Sølvi Vatnhamar and after a quarter of an hour Kaj Leo í Bartalsstovu doubled Víkingur’s advantage.

KÍ did manage to mount some pressure on the Víkingur goal as the game went on, but as Víkingur made it 3-0 in the first minute of the second half by a terrific strike by Djordjevic, all hope looked to have vanished for KÍ.

But when John Hammer pulled a goal back with a header following a corner after 58 minutes, there was glimmer of hope for KÍ again.

It also helped KÍ when Víkingur’s Hans Jørgen Djurhuus was sent off with 20 minutes remaining, and with 8 minutes left of normal time, Páll Klettskarð made an easy tap-in after Hjalgrím Elttør set him up.

Klettskarð was at it again to make it 3-3 in the last minute of normal time after some ping-pong following a corner.

KÍ will have to prove their worth again on Saturday 4 August when they take on EB/Streymur who trail KÍ by the single point.

EB/Streymur - B68 Toftir 0-0

ÍF Fuglafjørður - FC Suðuroy 3-2 (1-1)
1-0 Karl Løkin
1-1 John Tordar Poulsen
2-1 Jan Ellingsgaard (pen)
3-1 Dánjal á Lakjuni
3-2 John Tordar Poulsen

28 July

HB Tórshavn - TB Tvøroyri 4-1 (3-1)
1-0 Christian R. Mouritsen
1-1 Gilli Sørensen
2-1 Alex dos Santos
3-1 Christian R. Mouritsen
4-1 Andrew av Fløtum

HB had few problems in beating TB who rarely really threatened, although they gave HB a scare when they managed to equalize after some 30 minutes, but with two quick goals shortly after, HB put the game beyond TB.

HB took the lead after 12 minutes when Andrew av Fløtum’s excellent pass played Christian R. Mouritsen clear and from the edge of the goal-area, he curled the ball around the goalkeeper and into the far side of the goal.

HB goalkeeper Teitur Gestsson had to be at his best to stop a freekick from going in, but on 33 minutes there was nothing he could do when a clear Gilli Sørensen equalized for TB from close range after a back-heel from Bojan Timic.

But the joy was short-lived as HB regained the lead just two minutes later with a thunderous left hook into the top corner from Brazilian Alex dos Santos from a corner.

Santos’ precision hadn’t been of his usual standards so far this season, but five minutes after his goal, he made an equally impressive cross straight into the forehead of Mouritsen to make it 3-1.

After TB had a couple of good attempts early in the second half, their challenge faded and HB’s win was never threatened.

After 70 minutes, TB’s goalscorer Gilli Sørensen was dismissed after a second bookable offence, and with 10 minutes remaining, TB’s off side trap was beaten when av Fløtum was released to get clear to and make it 4-1 to HB. Technically it was an owngoal as it was a defender that pushed the ball over the goal line, but av Fløtum was credited for the goal, however.

29 July

B36 Tórshavn - NSÍ Runavík 5-1 (1-0)
1-0 Dánjal Rói Olsen
2-0 Bárður Olsen
2-1 Jann Martin Mortensen
3-1 Dánjal Rói Olsen
4-1 Owngoal
5-1 Gunnar Zachariasen

Dánjal Rói Olsen put B36 on winning course after five minutes with a header from a Símun Joensen cross, and when Bárður Olsen just after the break spotted the NSÍ goalkeeper off his line and doubled the score with a clever looping shot, B36 looked to have wrapped up the points against a very tame NSÍ team.

But midway through the second half NSÍ pulled a goal back through Jann Martin Mortensen as B36 failed to clear from a corner.

However, the hope for NSÍ was short-lived as B36 restored their two-goal cushion five minutes later when Jákup á Borg again set up Dánjal Rói Olsen for an easy finish.

With three minutes remaining, Pól Jóhannus Justinussen turned the ball behind his own goalkeeper after a corner before youngster Gunnar Zachariasen at the death made it 5-1 a few minutes after he had come on in his debut for B36, after having lived in Denmark for a number of years now where he amongst other clubs has played for AB Copenhagen.
